Who we are

Oriole Garden Bistro is the restaurant of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam (The Grand Real Estate B.V., VAT number NL806093092B01), Oudezijds Voorburgwal 197, 1012 EX Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are responsible for the processing of personal data through this website (oriolebistro.nl). This privacy policy explains which data we process, why, and what rights you have.

What data we process and why

• Reservations. Online reservations are handled through SevenRooms. There you provide details such as your name, email address, phone number, date, time, number of guests and any special requests. We use this data to manage your reservation and keep you informed about it (performance of a contract).
• Allergies and dietary requirements. If you share information about allergies or dietary requirements, we use it solely to prepare your meal safely, and only with your explicit consent.
• Contact. If you email or call us, we use your details to answer your question (legitimate interest).
• Gift vouchers. Gift vouchers are ordered through the ordering platform of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam (SK Chase). The terms and privacy policy of that platform also apply to your order.
• Marketing. Only with your consent to marketing cookies, we use the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram). It helps us measure the effect of our advertising and show relevant ads to visitors of our website. This is done for Oriole and for Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam.
• Website visits. Only with your consent, we use Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the website, for example which pages are viewed, on which device and from which region. We use these statistics to improve the website.

Cookies

On your first visit, a cookie banner (CookieYes) asks for your consent. Your choice is stored in a functional cookie (cookieyes-consent, kept for 1 year). Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*, kept for up to 2 years) are only placed if you consent. The same applies to the Meta pixel marketing cookie (_fbp, kept for 3 months). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie icon at the bottom left of the website.

Our menus are displayed through Menumodo. When you open a menu, it is loaded from Menumodo’s servers, which receive technical data such as your IP address.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data. We only share data with parties that help us provide our services, such as SevenRooms (reservations), Google (website statistics through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics), Meta Platforms (ad measurement through the Meta pixel), Menumodo (menus), SK Chase (gift vouchers) and the parties that host and maintain this website. We have agreements with these parties to protect your data. Beyond that, we only share data when the law requires us to.

Some of these parties may process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. This only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.

How long we keep data

We do not keep personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Data we are legally required to keep, such as for tax records, is kept for the statutory period of 7 years. Statistical data in Google Analytics is kept for a maximum of 14 months.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unlawful use. The website uses a secure connection (HTTPS).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to the processing, ask us to restrict it, request a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given at any time. Please send your request to info@oriolebistro.nl. We will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
